WiTT is on mission to ensure nobody has to heal alone and that everyone has equal access to the support they deserve

What drives us

A desire to do good

The opportunity to help people on their hardest days, offering relief and hope when they need it most.

A vision to eliminate barriers

The best treatments mean nothing if people cannot access them. Our mission is to ensure that every patient has what they need to thrive.

A commitment to holistic care

Ensuring that patients are not just treated but truly cared for, with support addressing every aspect of their journey.

Personal purpose

Many of us have witnessed the isolation and hardships that come with illness, fueling our passion to make a meaningful difference.

Our Story

"I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in January of 2021. My personal journey made me want to make a difference by developing a platform to help cancer patients deal with the financial and logistical challenges they face during treatment."

Rahul's Story

Rahul Mahadevan, Founder and CEO of WiTT is a Cancer survivor and patient advocate. In 2021, when going through his own Cancer journey, he met patients who were choosing to delay or avoid treatment because they did not have the non-clinical support they needed.

He started WiTT to help address the non-clinical (financial & non-financial) challenges patients faced as they went through treatment with the hope, that by removing these "activities of daily living" challenges, patients could focus on what was truly important — their health.

Rahul has over 23 years of healthcare experience, having worked for multiple vendors (Philips, Siemens) and providers (Stanford Hospital & Clinics, Stanford Children's) during this time. He has a passion for technology, digital health, and oncology and is focused on developing innovative solutions to impact the lives of cancer, and all chronic disease, patients.

His Journey

I started WiTT to focus on helping patients navigate the "activities of daily living" and the non-clinical challenges they face as they go through treatment. As I went through my own journey, I personally struggled with the following:

  • I needed help but did not want to be a burden to others — so I did not ask.
  • My needs changed constantly, so not only did I not know what I needed help with, I didn't like people offering help I did not need.
  • I had a lot of people who wanted to help but wrestled with the question, "Tell me what I can do" — I didn't know what to tell them in the moment.
  • I met a lot of patients in the waiting room and in support groups who were anxious if they would get the support they needed and wondered if they would be able to be there for their family as they went through treatment.

His Solution

Our platform de-stigmatizes asking for help and makes it easy for those that want to help to help those they care about. The platform does the following:

  • Makes it easy for a patient to ask for the help they need (think of creating post-its on a whiteboard with whatever you need help with)
  • Makes those post-its visible to those that want to help and make it easy for them to help
  • Provides an easy way to transfer money from them to you so that you have the financial flexibility

While we are starting with Cancer, the platform will be available to all patients who need help, irrespective of diagnosis.

Our goal is to help all those patients less fortunate than us have the financial and logistical support they need as they go through their journey.

We help patients overcome financial and non-financial barriers like transportation, food insecurity, and medication access so they can focus on recovery.

Donors

We connect donors with real patient needs, offering an personal way to make contributions that transform lives.
